Stewardship Events
The Michigan Tech Fund hosts events to provide the donor-sponsored scholarship recipients with the opportunity to show their gratitude for their awards. At these events, scholarship recipients are provided the names and addresses of the their sponsors to facilitate written expression of their gratitude. The Spring 2006 event was held in the Memorial Union Ballroom. Hundreds of students came to this session to thank the sponsors of their scholarships.
The Michigan Tech Fund hosts several of these events each year. "While we at the Fund sincerely appreciate the generosity of our scholarship donors, it's great that so many students use this opportunity to also thank their sponsors," explains Eric Halonen, Director of Gift Planning. "There are many students who could not obtain a Michigan Tech education without the help of these sponsors."
The scholarship recipients are excited to be able to personally thank the donors who have helped them finance their education.
