Corporate Opportunities
There are a wide range of opportunities for corporations to become more involved with Michigan Tech. We have many programs in place with ample opportunity for you to get involved.
Scholarships and Fellowships
Scholarships and Fellowships
Scholarships and fellowships support the increasing financial demands of the education of students who will begin studies at or who are already upper classmen at Michigan Tech.
Companies benefit by generating good will to the selected students through such substantive awards. Scholarships are positive recruiting tools and connect employers early on with potential future high performing employees early on in their studies. Moreover, scholarship and fellowship donors have a direct impact on achieving diversity goals for future workforce settings.
Scholarship and fellowship awards will be allocated so that first priority is given to individuals who are members of groups historically underrepresented in the engineering professions (e.g. women, African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans and Native-Americans) who have demonstrated solid past academic performance and show great potential for future academic and professional success.
Michigan Tech suggests that companies consider scholarship awards in disciplines that reflect their anticipated recruiting needs.
Scholarship Support for Summer Youth / Pre-College Participants
Increasing and enriching diversity on Michigan Tech's campus will not only provide a more diverse pool of future employees for companies, but will help prepare all of our students to be successful in a multicultural / global work environment.
Corporate support for pre-college students to actively participate in the Michigan Tech week-long, summer intensive Women In Engineering (WIE) or Explorations In Engineering (EIE) workshops will increase the career awareness and academic skills of students who are traditionally underrepresented in engineering. Our longitudinal tracking shows that over 30% of EIE and 40% of WIE participants return to Michigan Tech as undergraduates and over 60% go on to enroll in engineering or science degree programs.
